„Farming is more than just making a profit. As farm managers, we have a very special responsibility towards the maintenance of our centuries-old cultural asset, which has also become an incredibly valuable natural asset, not least thanks to our extensive management of our estate.”

Crops
Not far from the vineyards, surrounded by old hedgerows and freestanding nut and fruit trees, are the farm’s crops, scattered over 27 hectares. Wheat, sunflower, pumpkin and lucerne are some of the crops which are farmed on an alternating crop rotation. A multitude of weed plants, insects and birds also benefit from this extensive organic farming approach.
Cattle
In total, 6 Murboden and Angus cattle spend their days from spring to winter roaming freely outside on a generous pasture. As stewards of the landscape, they contribute their part to the diversity of the land, the fauna and the flora, while reminding us of an almost forgotten form of land use in the region. The meat of these extensive ancient breeds of cattle can be ordered in advance in mixed 4kg packs at € 80 and collected every December. We look forward to your pre-orders and/or queries via e-mail at

Agroforst/Vitiforst and wildwux
Our farmland and vineyards are surrounded by more than 40,000 m² of valuable landscape elements, such as hedges, shrubs, trees, extensive meadows and wetlands.
These small-scale structures form the ecological backbone of our cultural landscape. They create habitats for animal and plant species, protect against erosion, stabilise soil and water systems, and actively contribute to climate protection.
This holistic understanding of agriculture is also reflected in our agroforestry approach. Since 2025, we have been the first winery to hold PAN agroforestry certification. PAN is the world’s first certification with standardised quality assurance that highlights the wide-ranging ecological and agricultural benefits of agroforestry – in harmony with wildwux and sustainable agriculture. Truffle farming
Following many natural finds of summer and Burgundy truffles in our region, we have embarked on the targeted cultivation of Périgord truffles (black truffles) since 2025.
This initiative allows us to explore innovative forms of cultivation while further diversifying our farm. Moreover, truffle farming contributes to enriching the cultural landscape by helping to break up the dominance of viticultural monoculture and promote greater ecological diversity.
